Why Is Having Insurance Important?
Why is having insurance important? There are many reasons. Insurance is a safe guard if an accident happens and you don’t have money for it when it happens. You can get insurance for your car, your health, your home and many other things. Not to mention in most states health and auto insurance is mandatory.

Mandatory Insurance
-
Having an insurance policy for your automotive is required in all 50 states. These policies also require a minimum amount of liability. Automotive insurance can help cover accidents that may occur and pay for any medical costs and car repairs. Homeowner insurance is usually mandatory also if you have a mortgage on your home. This is very important because it will help protect you from damage that is caused by fire, storms, vandalism and theft.
Health Insurance
-
Having a health insurance policy is also very important. In some states it is mandatory but not in all. Having health insurance can help pay for any reoccurring medical bills you might have. It can also help with any emergency bills or surgeries that would otherwise be unaffordable. With out insurance all medical bills would need to be paid out of your own pocket.
Supplemental Insurance
-
Supplemental or disability income insurance will typically pay 50% to 60% of an individuals gross income. This is very useful if for some reason you are not able to work for a period of time due to injury or disability. This type of insurance is very useful because it will help cover monthly bills that you would otherwise not have a paycheck for. The money received is also not considered taxable income.
